Engineering Manager

Our client has an immediate requirement for an experienced Engineering Manager to join one of their most prestigious projects and offer continuous improvement support to the project through managing the engineering disciplines within the project. You will alongside the Project Manager to improve on the engineering processes within the disciplines and assign headcount to the relevant areas of the project.

Your core responsibilities / duties will include:

Assure excellence in engineering delivery. Ensure implementation of management processes,. Develop and deliver engineering (and commissioning) best practice. Identify, develop, maintain and improve procedures. Support Tendering process Leading, guiding and supporting the engineering and technical teams. Develop and improve the engineering management / delivery process. Assure safety in design. Planning and estimating engineering delivery. Liaison with construction manager to ensure engineering for construction. Recruitment and retention of high quality personnel. Offshore site visits to monitor performance. Develop and monitor staff competence.

Knowledge / Experience / Qualification

Educated to Degree level preferred Full professional membership and able to demonstrate continuing professional development. Previous experience of Managing an Engineering function on a Major Project or within major organisation. Previous experience of contributing towards Engineering and Company Strategy. In depth understanding of the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry. Post Graduate Leadership Training preferred Post Graduate Management Training preferred Demonstrable experience within a similar environment / industry. In depth knowledge and understanding of latest relevant technical developments within the industry. Knowledge of and commitment to planning and cost control Ability to work on own initiative; self motivated, willingness to learn and adapt. Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively within the organisation and with external clients / customers.
