General Farm Assistant

Your role will be to contribute to the successful running of the business, by helping with general farm work and maintenance, and the process and packing of poultry.

You will have the responsibility of feeding and general husbandry of pigs and poultry. The cleaning and hygeine of the processing plat will also be within your remit.

You will work closely with all employees of the business and are expected to have a working relationship of the family members of the business.

Your duties will include:- Collecting Wood for the Farm House on a daily basis. Feeding of livestock twice daily Work in the process plant oon two days each week wher duties will include the evisceration and packaging of poultry. Maintain the process plant to quality standard of Health and Hygeine. Collect eggs as required and general maintenance along with log cutting.

Experence of livestock is esseential for this role as it is important that the post holder has a high regard for animal welfare. A clean driving licence would be beneficial as would experience of driving a Tractor. It is a prerequisite that the post holder is capable of handling dead birds and not concerned with working in slaughterhouse conditions.

The post holder is expected to live in the self contained flat that is provided. A bicycle will be provided free of charge and a car is available if wanted (running costs not included).

The position is expected to last at least 1 year.

The post holder may have a partner who can also be employed on this farm. – Please note that a minimum of 16 hours a week can be guaranteed for the post holders partner.

Partner work will consist of Child Care, Housekeeping and general help around the Farm House.
