To be the primary point of contact for personal tax advisory matters in the Inverness Office and to provide technical support and on the job training for members of the personal tax team. The primary focus of the role is the provision of tax advice to individuals and non-corporate clients of the firm’s Inverness office which is likely to include reports and detailed computations. The main areas of tax advice will cover Income Tax, Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax Planning issues and business tax issues with assistance from a more senior tax specialist, if required. Can complete and review complex Income Tax Returns. Is able to draft items such as internal tax updates for non-tax specialists. CTA qualified or working towards the CTA qualification or ATT qualified with extensive technical experience. Considerable experience of working in private client tax role dealing with tax returns for individuals and partnerships. Previous exposure to private client advisory work including writing tax advice letters. Good technical skills and knowledge of a wide range of private client tax issues including Income Tax, Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax. IT Literate. Good working knowledge of Pertax or similar software. Conscientious and well organised.
