This role is based within the MEICA team in the Inverness office working on various water and power BG projects. Responsible for Electrical and ICA design and the production of design deliverables such as Load schedules, Single line diagrams, PID, FDS, Specifications and Schedules and Drawings. Key Objectives The principle function of this position is to work within a multidiscipline design team producing Electrical designs for Water and Wastewater treatment facilities and to provide general engineering support to the water & power business group on other projects. Key Responsibilities The priorities of this role include outline and detailed design of Electrical installations (pumping stations, sewage and water treatment plant, flood defences); assisting in production of Electrical GAs, P&ID, FDSs, tender documents and specifications, feasibility studies, and asset condition surveys, all associated with the Water, Power and Nuclear markets • Taking a design from concept stage through to scheme design for procurement • Preparation and Submission of Deliverables • Site investigations • Production of equipment specifications, SLD, cable design and routing, load schedules and internal and external building services drawings and specifications • Production of FDS documents, Control philosophies, Telemetry and PLC schedules • Liaison with Client, contractors and suppliers • Site inspection and commissioning support • Requirement to interface with both in-house and client design and project teams Job Requirements The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate all or most of the following skills and knowledge: • have a relevant degree and either be chartered or incorporated or progressing towards professional status with the engineering council or have a relevant qualification and suitable experience in the electrical design and construction environment • design of low voltage power distribution systems • Familiarity with Amtech design software • Familiarity with Wiring regulations, DSEAR regulations, etc. • familiarity with PLC control systems and telemetry systems • knowledge of potable water treatment systems • knowledge of sewage treatment systems • understanding of standard conditions of contract • Able to manage own time and programme of work to deadlines given. • Knowledge of Switchgear, Motor Control centres, standby diesel generation, UPS systems • Knowledge of Lightning protection, earthing and bonding, discrimination studies Click Apply
