• Cànan is the commercial company owned by Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, which is recognised as “being a centre of excellence for the development and enhancement of the Gaelic language, culture and heritage,” Cànan is committed to providing the highest quality service and product in terms of our work in Gaelic, and innovative integrated solutions in design, learning and communications. * In 2004, Cànan, with Napier University, was the only Scottish company to win a DTI Award for its Knowledge Transfer Partnership – and made the final eight for the overall UK award. In 2005, we won a Highlands and Islands Business of the Year award and in 2006, a 10-year achievement award from Investors in People Scotland. * Cànan’s recent projects include Air Splaoid! the free, online, multi-media Gaelic learning adventure. This was developed in partnership with Seirbheis nam Meadhanan Gàidhlig, Highland 2007, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Learning and Teaching Scotland, learndirect scotland, Bòrd na Gàidhlig, BBC Alba, Highland Council, LEADER+, UHI Millennium Institute and Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.

* Cànan is currently project managing FilmG, the Gaelic short film competition from MG ALBA to seek out and develop new talent for the Gaelic channel, BBC ALBA.
